Privacy Policy

01 · Overview

Whip the Rope is a jump rope fitness tracking app. We designed it to collect as little personal information as possible while still giving you accurate, useful performance data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the strict limits we place on how that data is used.

02 · Microphone access

Whip the Rope requests microphone access for one purpose only: to detect the impact sound of your jump rope so we can count skips in real time. The microphone is active only while a workout session is running and is released as soon as the session ends.

03 · Audio is never stored, uploaded, shared or sold

We take audio handling seriously. To be explicit:
  • · Audio recordings are not stored on your device.
  • · Audio recordings are not uploaded to our servers.
  • · Audio recordings are not shared with third parties.
  • · Audio recordings are not sold under any circumstance.
  • · Raw microphone audio is not retained after on-device processing.
Audio is processed locally on your iPhone, converted into a skip count, and immediately discarded. Workout audio is never used for profiling, advertising, or any other purpose.

04 · Workout data

Skip counts, SPM (skips per minute), session duration and related performance metrics are stored so you can review your training history. You can delete this data at any time from Settings → Account.

05 · Analytics and diagnostics

To improve reliability and detection accuracy, Whip the Rope uses a small number of well-known SDKs. Each one is limited to a specific purpose:
  • Firebase Analytics · may collect anonymous usage events such as which screens are opened or which features are used.
  • Firebase Crashlytics · may collect technical crash diagnostics (stack traces, device model, OS version) so we can fix bugs quickly.
  • RevenueCat · processes subscription-related purchase information (transaction IDs, entitlement status) so we can deliver and restore the features you've paid for.
  • Meta App Events · may measure app installs and basic in-app events used for attribution and product analytics.
These SDKs never receive raw audio, microphone data, or the contents of your workouts beyond aggregate performance metrics.

06 · No cross-app tracking for advertising

Whip the Rope does not use collected data to track you across third-party apps or websites for advertising purposes. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not sell personal data, and we do not collect sensitive health information for advertising. Workout audio is never used to profile users.

07 · Subscriptions & payments

All subscription and payment information is handled securely by Apple through the App Store, with subscription state synchronized via RevenueCat. Whip the Rope never receives or stores your payment credentials or full card details.

08 · Data retention & deletion

Workout history is retained until you delete it or delete your account. You can remove all data associated with your account at any time from inside the app, or by emailing the address below.

09 · Children

Whip the Rope is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10 · Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you inside the app before the changes take effect.
